Kathy was born in Coquille Oregon on April 25th, 1972. Her parents are Richard Orville Deaver and Susan Lorraine Deaver. Richard worked as a foreman at a saw wood mill and Susan was a stay at home mom. Kathy’s brother, Jeffery Michael, was 8 weeks old when the family moved to New Jersey to be closer to Susan’s family in 1974. In ’76 they eventually went back to Coos Bay, Oregon for job opportunities. Kathy went to grade school at Blossom Gulch Elementary.
When Kathy was 9 years old, her Father passed away. Susan was left to raise both kids on her own until she met and married Steven Warren Upham a year later. Steve was a great father and husband and Steve and Susan had one child together, Matthew Steven, in 1983.
Kathy attended 7th and 8th grade at North Bend Junior High School and was actively involved in the volleyball team. After that they moved to Eugene Oregon. Kathy attended 9th and 10th grade at Willamette High School there. Steve and Susan both attended community college looking for a career change.
Steve got a good job with Boeing so they move to Gresham Oregon. Kathy attended the remainder of her schooling at Gresham High School and graduated in 1991. Meanwhile Kathy’s family moved to Chandler Arizona for better job opportunities. Kathy soon followed them to Arizona a couple years later.
